Eartham Wood, Selhurst Park, Oxon Down, Tegleaze, UpWaltham Hill, North Down, Stane Street.

A fantastic walk on a fun, sunny day,. Exhilarating at time with the climbs, not for the faint hearted.

A sheltered spot out of the wind for Lunch

The Church of St Mary the Virgin, Upwaltham.
12th century church branded as The Church in the Field.
Set back from the road alongside the A285 Chichester to Petworth road.

Start of the climb upto UpWaltham Hill.
Quiet Steep and certainly got my pulse racing.

UpWaltham Hill looking back to North Down

Well we reached the top and a well earned the chance to recuperate.

Stansted House Rowlands Castle SOLo Walk 6mile

20140221 Stansted 6ml
I couldn't find the Heartsmart Walk so I did my own thing.

Stansted House

A fantastic Hide! the sign should have the word 'NOT' in front of 'for public use'.
If some one had not vandelized the sign I would have had to add 'Except for Ken Codd'.

Shaky if you move around

20131119 HeartSmart Walk Eartham

Led by Peter Brooks
The third best walk with Heartsmart in over two years

Slindon Folley

Eartham House, the current home of Great Ballard School

This photo shows not Autumn Gold but Autumn RED
A whole forest red in colour.

One of the first photos of me on a HeartSmart walk :-)

Only 15 of us on this walk but spread out over several hundred yards, when we were not busy nattering.

This  Red berried tree is a 'Spindle' Euonymus europaeus
Wacky colour combination of bright pink four-part capsules with orange berries within.
Frequent small tree on calcareous soils, often in hedges or woods.

This small building at Crouch Farm Eartham, I guess is a well for Eartham. It is dated 1907 and is exceptionally good condition.
